Creating your own custom items

How to upload your own images as stage items, and how to edit or delete them.

Custom items are a Pro/Premium feature. You upload your own image, for example an instrument that is not in the catalog or a specific piece of your backline, and use it on the stage like any other item. Pro lets you keep up to 10 and Premium up to 50.

Creating an item

  1. In the sidebar, press CUSTOM and then the + button.

The CUSTOM category in the sidebar with the + button highlighted

  1. Press Select file / Drop image or drag the image onto the box. PNG and JPG are accepted.
  2. Check the name: it is filled in from the file name and you can change it.
  3. Set the Initial zoom on stage, from 3 to 30: it is the size the item has when you drag it in. The default is 8.
  4. Press Save item.

The Add new item dialog, with the drop area and the initial zoom

The item stays in CUSTOM and you drag it onto the stage like any other.

Which image to use

When you upload it, the image is compressed and optimized to keep the editor running smoothly. For the best result, use a good-quality PNG with a transparent background. If you enlarge it too much on the stage or in the PDF, it will look a little soft.

If an image cannot be saved, write to us and attach it so we can sort it out.

Editing or deleting an item

Press the item in CUSTOM: you can change the name and the initial zoom and press Update, or delete it with the trash button. Deleting it also removes it from the stage you have open and from every rider that contained it.

On the free plan your custom items stay in your riders, though disabled, and come back when you go back to Pro/Premium: see what happens to your riders.
